Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how pre-settlement funding works.

What is pre-settlement funding?

Pre-settlement funding is a cash advance against the expected value of your personal injury case. It helps you cover rent, bills and everyday expenses while your case moves forward, so you are not pressured into accepting a low settlement.

Is this a loan?

No. Our funding is non-recourse. You repay only if your case results in a settlement or verdict, and repayment comes out of the recovery. If you lose your case, you owe nothing.

Do you check my credit or employment?

No. We look at the strength of your case, not your credit score, income or employment history. There are no monthly payments and nothing to pay upfront.

How fast can I get funded?

Most applications are reviewed quickly once we hear from your attorney's office. After approval and a signed agreement, funds are often sent as soon as the next business day.

Do I need a lawyer?

Yes. You must be represented by an attorney on a contingency basis. We work directly with your attorney's office to review the case, and your attorney acknowledges the funding agreement.

How much can I receive?

The amount depends on the facts of your case, the injuries involved and the expected recovery. We only advance what makes sense for your case, so you keep as much of your settlement as possible.

What states do you fund in?

Green Street Funding provides funding in many states. Availability and terms vary by state law, and funding is not available in every state. Apply and we will confirm whether your case qualifies.

Can I get more funding later?

Often, yes. If your case develops and there is room, you can request additional funding. Each request is reviewed with your attorney.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Se habla Español. You can read our site and apply in Spanish, and we are happy to communicate with you in Spanish.
